Honoured to be recognised at two university award ceremonies
15 June 2018
I am honoured to have been recognised at two university awards ceremonies after nominations at both events.
The 'BAFTARs' and Create Student Awards took place at MediaCityUK and the Old Trafford Cricket Ground respectively. Both ceremonies on Wednesday and Thursday night were well attended by staff and students of the University of Salford.
Marking the end of the academic year, the BAFTARs looked back on a phenomenal 12 months for the BA Television and Radio course. Hosted by esteemed radio presenter Darryl Morris, the evening saw 23 awards handed out.
I was also proud to bring a number of contributors from my recent documentary Stuart Fraser: The Unsociable Social Entrepreneur. Proceedings culminated outside in amusing fashion, following an evacuation due to a fire alarm.
The Create Student Awards took place the following evening at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground. Celebrating the achievements of the School of Arts at Media, actor, presenter and alumni Lee Peart hosted a formal but relaxed evening.
It was a shiny showcase of all things Salford with over a hundred guests. Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Richard Stephenson presented artist and youth worker Abdul Yussuff the School Ambassador Award for his "overwhelmingly positive impact".

Unfortunately, I did not walk away with any awards but feel blessed to have been nominated and invited to such prestigious events on the university calendar amongst such talented competition.
