Returning to the University of Salford to train media lecturers on neurodiversity
5 September 2025
Today I returned to the University of Salford, where I completed my degree, to train media lecturers on neurodiversity.
In my most extensive training yet, lecturers learned inclusive practices including ways to support executive function and group work. The interactive day also explored disclosure, industry placements and assignment clarity.
The university's School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology offers courses in areas such as journalism, TV, film, music and design, combining practical studio work with industry links to help students gain real-world experience.
It was a real joy to return to the university exactly ten years after I enrolled, sharing insights on neurodiversity with lecturers, some of whom had taught me. Nearly one in four students identify as neurodivergent and they all deserve the understanding and support needed to thrive and build fulfilling careers.
