The Grierson Trust, who oversee the awards, say they aim to "recognise and celebrate documentaries from Britain and abroad that have made a significant contribution to the genre and that demonstrate quality, integrity, creativity, originality and overall excellence."

It's amazing that Inside Our Autistic Minds has been recognised in this way. The BBC's commitment to an accessible, informative series has paid off and I'm so proud that the programme has been received so well. We will have to wait until September to see if we're off the ceremony!
