Pandemic responsibility as I join BBC Bitesize Daily's VT team

3 April 2020

I can now announce I have joined the new BBC Bitesize Daily programme as a VT researcher, working from home during the Coronavirus pandemic.

I will be helping to prepare VT inserts for the BBC's new education programme, launching on Monday 20 April, working alongside former colleagues from the BBC Bitesize careers and support team.

BBC Bitesize Daily will offer daily programmes for children all across the UK, aimed at minimising disruption to their education during the coronavirus pandemic. Tony Hall, Director General of the BBC, described it as "the biggest education effort the BBC has ever undertaken".

The primary and secondary shows will be filmed in HQ7 at MediaCityUK, also home to Match of the Day. Karim Zeroual, Oti Mabuse and Katie Thistleton will be part of the on-screen talent reaching out to children every day through BBC iPlayer, the Red Button and the BBC Bitesize website.

I feel great responsibility taking on this role, helping to funnel content through to the edit at Dock 10 in Salford. Whilst I won't be in the studio, I can't wait to see the show finally reach children who need it most right across the country.
