Thrilled to be replicating equality and diversity speech at the British Library
3 May 2018
I am thrilled to announce that I will be replicating my equality and diversity speech at the British Library on Tuesday 15 May.
Again performing alongside fellow students Molly Keyworth and Megan Hayward, I will speak at the Radio Academy Radio Festival 2018 in a room full of radio executives, practitioners and aspiring professionals.
I first performed the speech at MediaCityUK in April at the Nations and Regions Media Conference. Touching on "diversity within diversity", I stressed a need to not just paint stereotypes, but "a real spectrum, a rainbow of life".
The Radio Festival, which will collate speeches, discussions and interviews, said "the worlds of podcasting, streaming, audio publishing, digital audio and traditional radio are all in this dynamic melting pot."
BBC 6 Music presenter Lauren Laverne will host the festival under the theme of “Radio – What’s The Future?” The event is being directed by Nick Pitts, Content Director of Jazz FM, who has been at the station since 2008.
